Starting hormones, or finally having someone qualified look after the ones you're already on, can feel like the moment your life starts to fit. It deserves a doctor who knows this medicine, takes your blood tests seriously and treats you like a person rather than a puzzle. Whether you live in Thailand, you're here for a few months or you're planning hormones around surgery, you should be able to find that care without guessing.
Thailand, and Bangkok above all, has some of the best gender-affirming hormone care in Asia: dedicated trans health units inside international hospitals, endocrinologists who specialise in this, a university clinic that teaches it and a trans-led community clinic. These are the best clinics for trans HRT in Thailand in 2026: who prescribes, how they monitor you, which feminizing and masculinizing hormones they offer, and how to book your first appointment.
How I rank HRT clinics in Thailand
I've spent over ten years coordinating international patients through Bangkok hospitals, and hormones come up in almost every one of those conversations. For HRT this list ranks on the doctors (an endocrinologist or a specialist in gender medicine prescribing for you), how closely they monitor you with blood tests, the setting around them, and how welcoming and easy to reach the clinic is for trans people, including those who don't speak Thai.
Every fact comes from each provider's own information, checked 12 October 2026, with sources on its profile. No provider pays to be listed or to move up.

How to plan HRT in Thailand
-
1
Bring your current prescription and recent bloods
If you're already on hormones, bring your prescription, the exact names and doses you take, and your most recent blood results, translated if they aren't in English or Thai. It lets the doctor see where you are and pick up your care safely, rather than starting from scratch. If you're starting for the first time, bring your medical history and any medicines you take.
-
2
Expect a check before the first prescription
Expect a consultation and usually baseline blood tests before a first prescription: Kamol takes a full medical and mental-health history and examines you, and Bangkok Hospital screens your suitability before you start. Some clinics look for a diagnosis of gender incongruence first, so read about informed consent and gender clinics to know what to expect, and be open about anything you've taken before.
-
3
Plan for monitoring, not just a first visit
Hormones are prescribed and monitored by a doctor, and the monitoring is the part that keeps you safe. Plan on blood tests typically about every three months in the first year, then every six to twelve months once your dose is stable, as Kamol describes. If you're only visiting, agree with the doctor how your follow-up tests will happen once you're home.
-
4
Never buy hormones without a prescription
Some hormones, such as cyproterone, can be bought from a pharmacy without a prescription in parts of Asia, but nobody is checking the dose or your bloods when you go that way. Get them prescribed and monitored by one of these doctors, and don't start, stop or change a dose without them.

Travelling with your hormones
If you're flying in or out, carry your prescription and a letter from your doctor, keep your medicines in your hand luggage and plan your supply so there is no gap. Travel and keeping your supply has the details.
This page is information, not medical advice: the doctor who examines you and reads your blood results is the one to decide which hormones and which dose are right for you.
HRT in Thailand: common questions
Can foreigners get hormone therapy in Thailand?
Yes. Kamol Hospital and Bumrungrad's Pride Clinic look after patients from abroad every day, Bumrungrad offers tele-consultations, and both doctors at Bangkok Hospital's be YOURSELF unit speak English. A doctor will assess you and prescribe; bring your current prescription and recent blood results if you're already on hormones.
Which HRT clinics in Thailand are JCI accredited?
Kamol Hospital and Bumrungrad International Hospital on this list are accredited by Joint Commission International (JCI), and accreditation covers the whole hospital.
Which Thai clinics have an endocrinologist for trans hormones?
Bumrungrad's Pride Clinic (Asst. Prof. Sira Korpaisarn), Bangkok Hospital's be YOURSELF unit (Dr. Nida Serichantalergs) and the Gender Health Clinic at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, which has endocrinologists on its team.
How often will I need blood tests on HRT?
Typically about every three months in the first year, every six months in the second, then once a year, as Kamol describes, plus a test after any change of dose. Your doctor sets the schedule for you.
Can Thai residents get hormones through the Gold Card?
From June 2026, Thailand's Universal Coverage (Gold Card) scheme began covering gender-affirming hormone therapy for Thai people on the scheme, through civil-society clinics, Bangkok health centres and selected government hospitals, according to Khaosod English. Ask the clinic whether it takes part before you book.
How are these HRT clinics ranked?
On the doctors who prescribe (endocrinology and gender medicine), how closely they monitor you with blood tests, the setting, and how welcoming and accessible the clinic is, from over ten years of coordinating patients through Bangkok hospitals. Every fact is checked against each provider's own information. No provider pays to be listed or to move up.
