About Tangerine Community Health Clinic

Tangerine Community Health Clinic was set up in 2015 by the Institute of HIV Research and Innovation (IHRI) for trans people, and it is led by trained transgender staff working alongside gender-sensitive healthcare workers. If you've ever sat in a waiting room bracing yourself to explain who you are, this is the clinic where you won't have to. Gender-affirming hormone treatment is one of its core services, and by IHRI's own count Tangerine has looked after 3,560 transgender clients over more than 10,450 visits.

It is a whole-person clinic, not just a prescription desk. Alongside hormone treatment it offers counselling, testing and treatment for HIV and other sexually transmitted infections, PEP and PrEP, neovagina care after vaginoplasty, and vaccination against hepatitis A, hepatitis B and HPV, so the things trans people often have to chase across several clinics happen in one place. Its model has spread: in 2017 it extended to community health centres in Bangkok, Pattaya and Chiang Mai, and its Tangerine Academy trains healthcare providers across the region, including in gender-affirming hormone therapy.

Tangerine is in Chamchuri Square, Office Zone, 11th floor, right by MRT Samyan (Exit 2), and it is open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 7pm. You can walk in, book online or start with an online consultation, or message the clinic on LINE at @TangerineClinic; check the last registration time when you book. It suits people living in Bangkok best, because hormones mean regular visits and blood tests. This is information, not medical advice: the clinic's team will tell you what is right for you.
