About Bangkok Hospital
Bangkok Hospital's headquarters on New Petchburi Road has a unit built for trans people: be YOURSELF, on the 4th floor of the Chiva Transitional Care Hospital building. It offers gender-affirming hormone therapy and consultations for transgender people, with separate care for trans women and trans men, and it follows international guidelines such as WPATH and the Endocrine Society. For feminizing hormones that means estrogen with anti-androgens; for masculinizing hormones, testosterone by injection or gel.
Two doctors lead the hormone care. Dr. Nida Serichantalergs is an endocrinologist, a specialist in internal medicine, endocrinology and metabolism, and Dr. Bentawich Surasartpisal is a family medicine doctor in the unit who completed clinical observation in the Transgender Medicine program at the University of Minnesota in 2024. Both see patients in English and Thai. What stands out is how carefully they screen and monitor: you're checked for suitability before you start, then trans women are watched for clotting risk, heart and liver health and hormone levels, and trans men for liver function, lipids and hematocrit, the red-blood-cell level testosterone can push up.
It is one of the easiest hormone services in Bangkok to fit around a working week, open every day, until 8pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. There are pre-lab consultation packages to start feminizing or masculinizing hormones, trans women's and trans men's check-up programmes, hormone management before and after surgery, and neovaginal cancer screening for people who had sigmoid colon vaginoplasty. This is information, not medical advice: your doctor decides what's right for you.
